Poorly organized

I have been a medical technologist for 16 years and have taught immunology for 12 years in the classroom and clincial setting. This book is poorly organized and not relevant to the normal clinical lab. New terms for a med tech student are used in the first chapter and then defined in later chapters. There is an entire section on RID which only high volume reference labs use and is no longer recommended by ASCP to be covered in med tech schools. The lack of newer illustrations and photographs, and boring layouts of tables and charts is also a negative. I have actually given our students websites to refer to instead of sections in this book to complete their objectives.

A book about as good as her teaching...

This book is complex. Any normal student would be completely overwhealmed by this book geared more towards Medical School students rather than traditional college students. The language is too technical and the photos are laughable. There are no colorful pictures for those of us who like to be able to actually see what we are learning, there is no clear cut explaination of any of the suggested topic, and all in color green and the suggested photograph on page 199. Other than subtle hints of green, this black and white "textbook" is utterly and completely boring!

Horribly written

I am using this book for my immunology course for a clinical lab sciences program. This book does not explain things well at all. The paragraphs are composed of definitions defining more definitions and nothing is made clear. The organization doesn't make sense and is confusing. When it starts talking about values, it doesn't even explain what the values actually mean. The tables and graphs are not explained at all and are very unhelpful and even confusing/misleading sometimes. I think it's a horrible textbook for a 3000/4000 level immunology class. I had to constantly look up words and definitions because this book was just not clear at all.

88+ Grammatical Errors

There is some really good information in this book, however it is obvious that English is not the authors first language. The grammatical errors and the spelling errors made this a very difficult read for me.

This would make a really good first draft but it is not good enough for a published book by any stretch of the imagination. To me the book just felt thrown together and not thoroughly written to convey the authors knowledge. Also, it is very obvious to me that the book was never proof read before it was published.

It is a great subject and I do believe the author has uncovered many truths, it just would be nice if it was written much more professionally.

A surprising little gem

I love to go on buying sprees when I want to research a topic at some depth and with a variety of perspectives - the latest topic being on Hypnosis and Mind Control. So I selected a number of titles, including Daniel Marques's 88 Secret Codes. At the kindle price, it wasn't much of a risk if it turned out to be a dud.

Let me also say, I can see that Dan Marques has sought an education in how to make money online. As have I. You can tell by the way he stuffs key words into all of his titles. But that's cool. The internet has levelled the playing field for all those who have a passion and a message.

What he lacks in polish, he makes up for with the said passion and enthusiasm. I applaud that he creates his works quickly and unselfconsciously makes them available. When you have a lot you want to share with people, and it's pushing through you to get into print, speed takes priority over finesse.

However, don't get the idea that his work is clumsy or rough. Sure, it's easy to tell that Dan is not a native English speaker, and most of the grammatical problems mentioned in other reviews of his other books, are actually quite minor.

I found the actual work to be quite poetic in its layout, with a generous amount of white space around the written words. I found this allowed me room for contemplation, which led me to insights of my own based along the lines of my own research. And he certainly didn't clutter the book with excess verbiage.

To sum up, Daniel's book stretched my thinking and awareness. More than I was expecting. Now, I wasn't sure whether I wanted to give it a 5 star rating because of the grammatical problems, and the formatting problems towards the end of the book. But, darn, yes I did love the book. It deserves to be read by those who enjoy finding diamonds in the rough.

I hope that in his later years, Daniel might take some of his earlier, exuberant works and transform them into deeper works.

This guys books are very documentary film worthy. There is something interesting about the material in this book. I have been flipping through it and it is worth reading. Worth a buck or two for sure.

Read it like you are listening to a person speaking a second language.

English is not the authors first language... But how well do I speak Spanish? Not very well, so I don't
judge.
